Forgot to mention!!

The water looks dark and cold, but pretty with the reflections on it and just a slight ripple. No wind in the trees at all. It is starting to get cooler now though. hopefully a nice day for tomorrow.

Oh and another thing!!!

Gerard and I have been married now for 22 years!!!! Our anniversary today, no we are not going out to celebrate as Gerard has a real early start to work in the morning leaving here at 5.30am and I have stuff still to get ready so we both agree take away is fine for tonight. Maybe our 25th we will do something....

What a milestone that is eh?????

byee!!

Flying Home

It is 4.30pm and I am sitting on the verandah for a bit of a break. It has stopped raining for the day, the sky has a lovely soft pale blue background with streaks of white cloud then over the top of that are lots of small grey puffy clouds and then there are thicker fluffy darker grey clouds. The skyline has a complete line of clouds down to the trees edge, they are like cotton wool all joined together with a soft pink tinge to them with soft and dark grey in them.

As I put my head back on the chair and look out up to the sky there are stacks of groups of the birds coming back home in their line formations once again. oops here comes one all by himself nuh he has tried to join in with another group of them to go home with.

It is such an interesting sight to see them in their groups, how do they know what group they belong to, some of them are about ten of them or twenty of them and I love the way they fly in v shapes they just keep on coming I would hate to think how many of them there are.

It is interesting to watch them as some of those flying by themselves are trying to catch up with other groups.

It is so nice to see the black figures flying under the pale blue and grey sky.

Well have been to the church hall this arvo with the boxes of stuff I am going to try and sell tomorrow at the cash for stash market day. Hhopefully I will not come home with too much of it again.

Have sold a few things through my stamp group which is also good.

When I checked the letter box, I noticed the long black lines from the ground up to the spouting on my Palace!!! Stacks of ants are making their trails up the walls of the Purple Palace to get away from the wet I suppose, they are not inside the Palace, but I would hate to think where they have gone???? Most likely inside the lining of the walls and roof of the Palace to keep dry. Have sprayed surface spray all around once again. Damn nuisance they are.
well the birds are still coming. It has been 15 minutes and they have not stopped yet. One day when I have nothing else to do I will make sure I am out here before they start and count how many of them there are!!!!!

o,k, I am off to do some sorting of stuff to take tomorrow to try and sell

talk again soon

Fly Buys

Got rudely woken this morning with the phone ringing!! Typical people don't care if anyone else is in bed asleep they just have no consideration for others... Well actually that person did me a favour, cause after talking to them, I went out to the verandah to shut the door as the drizzle was coming in and looked up to the sky at the grey mass and noticed the flocks of birds flying by in their unusual formations.

It was just mesmerising as they flew off into the distance it looked like they were gracefully dancing in the sky, wavy lines and joining up groups to make their lines even longer

For about 20 minutes they just kept coming and coming over. Would hate to think how many of them there were, thousands. Don't know where they fly to and then later in the arvo they all come back. What a waste of time, why don't they just stay where they are for the night and then that energy is not wasted!!

Oh well I suppose they need the exercise to take off the weight they have gained for the day and I suppose maybe they have nests somewhere and they are flying back to feed their young!

o.k. that is it for the day as I have a lot of sorting of boxes as I am off to a market day with a stall to get rid of some of the stuff I do not use and don't need anymore and give me a bit of extra pocket money!! Tis is on saturday all day, have no idea of what it will be like or if it will even be successful... can only go and see.

bye for now

luv Jill

While driving along.....

While driving along the road today I spotted these beauties by the side of the road.

The chair has arrived!!!!

Well this was the view from the back window of the car while towing the chair back from Coongulla. The next pic is the whole car and trailer and then there is Gerard in the chair , we are going to extend the landing a bit so that the chair does not get in the way of the back door and then there is Gerard up high taking in the view and if you go down just a little further there is MOI!!! OMG!!!!! .....................

Take a look at this great fat BUDDAH!!!!!! Need to get back on track with the weight loss. Boy you think you are doing so well and BANGO you see a photo of yourself and you think ...................................!!!!!!!!!

It was reasonably easy to get up to the top of the ladder, but then I had to turn around and sit down. The silly part was getting down!!!!! Of course we were both laughing uncontrollably as to how I was going to get down!!!! Eventually got down, thank goodness there was no one out there walking dogs etc cause it was a funny sight!!

Dragonflies

Just thought you might like to see my dragonfly on the wall and the dragonfly/butterfly lights for inside the verandah.

Sunny outlook.

Just could not help myself, had to post these two pics, the sun bursting through the windows on the verandah yesterday morning, just glorious and a short stroll across the car park to the water!

I see a bad moon a rising!!!!

Don't forget to click on the pics for an enlargement.

Just have a look at these pics, I am rapt that I have been able to get some reasonable pics at long last. Just look at the line of clouds below the moon. Spectacular view, well I think it is!!! Sorry to bore you, but I can't help myself. Just wanted to share with you my enjoyments!!!

Expect the unexpected!!

Well I did end up going for a walk to the water's edge but not with the dogs and I did not end up sitting out in the verandah to soak up the sun!!

What did I end up doing today was not at all planned and it is great to just go with the flow!! After talking to you earlier this morning, I decided to give Millie a bath as she has been so itchy and losing more hair in chunks. Having done this and getting rather wet, I dried her off a bit with the hair dryer and then decided to soak up some sun and brush her at the same time. Firstly I thought about sitting in the verandah and brushing her and taking in the warmth of the sun through the glass, but ended up sitting on the step outside on the landing still in the sun, but not as hot.

While brushing her James from next door came out on the verandah and we started chatting, he commented on a massive flock of birds far out in the water obviously having a greatg feed. That chair is looking better and better. Roll on tomorrow, the day is expected to be even better than today so it will be perfect to go get the stuff from Geoff's place.

While talking, Suze also came out for a smoke and we got talking about a perfect day for a paddle. They ended up offering the kayak if I wanted to if I was o.k. to go out by myself. WOO HOO!! before I knew it I said yes I would go out by myself. So before I knew it James was down the stairs and carrying the kayak down to the water's edge for me. Well it did not take me long to get down to the waters edge with the dogs not happy that I had left them behind.

Gerard was not home so I left him a note to say I had gone paddling!!!!!!!! Left about 12noon and did not get back til 1.30pm. I took the mobile phone with me, yep I tied it in some plastic bags so if I did get into trouble it would not get wet and I could ring for help if needed.. Also took a bottle of water, some almonds for me and some bread for the birds, but they did not want it. Also a plastic bowl as a bailing bucket and a towel in case I got wet!!!

I looked a sight with my old trakky dacks that had paint splats all over them, an old t shirt cause I had just washed the dog!! My straw hat!!! not a good look and a lime green life jacket! Well off I go down to the water thinking oh my god how am I going to get into the boat and take off by myself? Don't worry Jill just do it.

On with the hat, the life jacket, pick up the paddle, push the boat into the water, step into the water, oh damn I have reasonably good runners on and I am ankle deep in the water, too late to worry now, just keep on going. The thought running through my mind at the moment was,,,,,, the last time I was in this kayak, it was a tight fit if you recall my first episode of going out in the kayak!!! Well amazingly I just slid into the opening of the kayak, well I have lost about 10 kilos since that first time I got in one. That made me feel just so good and the fact that I managed to get into the kayak by myself, although I should have been a bit further into the water cause I hit the bottom!!

Whoo hoo... I am away... I decided to go around to the left and head towards Eagle Point, Gerard reckons it is about 7 or 8 k's by car, by water it should not be so far!!! I just wanted to get to the part of land that sticks out and see what was around the corner!!! The water was like a sheet of glass, so still, no wind, the warmth of the sun, just perfect conditions.

It is such a feeling of freedom, gliding on top of the water and sitting so close to it, I was in awe. The funny thing is that the swans swim away from you in such a panic compared to when you walk along the bank and they come to you for food. I even threw out some bread for them, but they did not come near me.

As I paddled on there were all sizes of fish jumping out of the water!! In front of me and in the distance. Eventually I got to the corner and got around it thinking I would be at Eagle Point!! No such luck I had only got as far as the housing estate with the large palm trees, Eagle Point was still a long way off, I was tempted to paddle on, but I had to restrain myself cause I did have to paddle back again... So I turned around and paddled back to the canal entrance and went through the canal and turned up the first side opening and went around the block back to where I started. I am glad I stopped there and did not go any further as there was a slight breeze coming up and it made a difference to paddling back. Once in sight of the part where I set out in the water I paddled hard to get the kayak as far up the bank as possible to be able to get out easily. On thinking about it I should have backed into the bank cause I was facing up hill and it is not easy to get out that way. I managed to haul myself out eventually and pull the kayak up onto the grass. Boy was it heavy, my wrists were weak from using the paddle for so long. While walking back to the house, I could hear the two dogs happy to see me, you would have thought I had left them for days.

I had been away for one and a half hours, could not believe it had been that long. Gerard arrived home just as I came in the back door. Just a wonderful feeling for the day. I put the telly on at about 5.45pm and the next thing I know the phone was ringing, good grief it was 7pm. I had been asleep.

Well it is another day tomorrow, lovely weather again, am off to get my chair, yippee.

Will let you know how it goes..

bye for now
luv Jill

So Exciting!!!!!

Well tomorrow, Wednesday is the day weather permitting to go and get the "famous" chair!!!

Gerard's friend Geoff Tye kindly helped me get the "chair" to Machele's in Moorabbin about a month ago and last week Gerard and Geoff towed it in the trailer to Geoff's place in Mt Waverley. Today it is being taken to Coongulla to Geoff's holiday home by removalists as Geoff has sold his house in Mt Waverley and part of his stuff is going to the country house so luckily there is room for "the chair" to fit in the truck for the long trip. Tomorrow Gerard and I are going to the holiday house to pick up the chair with the trailer, so exciting. The holiday house is about an hour and a half drive away which is a bit easier for the old Holden and trailer to travel with the "big" chair... along the quiet country roads. Keep posted and for some photos!!!

Well today the glorious weather has returned, expected to be about 19 degrees and the sun is wonderful and warming once again. Am sitting in the loungeroom, should be on the chair in the verandah lapping up the sun. Still got the jammies on at 9.30am, bare feet are so cold, but am too lazy to get up just yet..

What is in store for today??? Well the old hip is being a bit stubborn this morning so will be taking it easy for a while. Moved too much yesterday in the Palace!!! typical, but it does not take much to upset the "old" body.... anyway enough of the whinging. I think I will go now and get dressed and walk down to the water's edge and lap up the peace and quiet. uh oh!! a Plover has broken the silence carrying on don't tell me they have a nest again happening obviously someone is walking past as the dogs have also run out and barking madly. It drives me up the wall as they should be used to the people walking by all the time. Nup bugger it I think I will just go out on the verandah and lounge on the swing and lap up the sun, maybe have another snooze for a while. Hey why not?????

O.k. will talk again soon with some pics of the chair and will also put up some pics of the moon rising the other night.

A Weeks holiday YAY!!!!!!

Well This week has been like I have been on holidays. Gerard has been away in Melbourne and Mum has gone to Rye to stay with my sister Chris for two weeks. So I have not cooked, stayed home all the time and "camped out" in the lounge room. Have not made the bed cause it has not been slept in!!! Have fallen asleep either in the chair or the couch at odd hours and too lazy to get up and go to bed, besides it would have been a cold bed whereas wherever I had fallen asleep I was warm. So the two cats took it in turns to sleep on me!!! One night they were both on me.. Have their favourite spots. Lucky for them I am not a tiny person so there is plenty of body to drape over...

In between sorting out more stuff in the Palace, I have been sorting out my unmounted stamps and sticking them to some ezimount to help the stamping process to be more accurate. It has taken me ages to do and I woke up this morning with a painful wrist from cutting through the foam for hours on end!!

Each morning I have woken up to a glorious morning and lapping up the luxury of turning on the telly and lying there watching Sunrise. I am hooked on them, they have a ball on that show and I find it is a great way to start the day. They have a good laugh and it is infectious. Then take the dogs for a walk to the waters edge and come home and pottered in the palace, come inside for a while, have an arvo nap and fiddle around in the house, feed the animals tea and then hop in the chair or couch and fall asleep and wake up at midnight or so and then fiddle on the computer and then fall asleep again til aout 8.30 in the morning again. It has been very relaxing.

Well Gerard is back now and has gone to bed!!!! He has put on the leccy blanket for me, so I will probably go to bed if I don't fall asleep here once again.

So excited, might be able to pick up the umpires chair this week!!!! looking forward to the view....

night for now

luv Jill

Typical Sunrise!!! Just Beautiful!!!

The expected temperature for today is 14 degrees celcius!!! I woke up this morning at 5.30 a.m. once again in the lounge chair!! Ashley one of my cats was fast asleep draped over me keeping me nice and warm. Gerard turned the lecky blanket off hours ago obviously not expecting me to come to bed!!! Yes it is more comfy in the chair than the bed these days... Not long after I woke, Gerard also got out of bed as he is off to Melbourne for the week and was planning to leave early for the three and a half hours drive. It is a long tedious drive for him being in the "old" E.J. Holden and also towing the trailer!! He is going to pick up some of the boxes we have in storage as I am going to a "stash and treasure" market for crafters with excess craft materials to sell. It is not easy parting with stuff and this is not stuff in the Purple Palace!!! That will be later on maybe if I can part with anything... It is not easy cause you never know when I might need something!!!

Anyway back to waking up early this morning, the skyline of the black silouette of the trees over the water become visible slowly with the orange glow appearing once again. The morning so far is mild. It is just so calming and peaceful watching the sun come up. I took some pics as you can see, unfortunately by the end of the sun rising, the cloud had come over and in the end the orange had gone, no sun shining brightly as it rose behind the clouds and then when the clouds broke apart the sun burst through and was up!

There are now patches of blue about, it has become cooler as the morning has progressed, still could be a lovely day!!

It is now 10.15 a.m. I am still in my jammies, had the remainer of the choccy fudge biscuits I made at 11p.m. last night and fee quite ill!!! So I should. So it is now back to the no food once again seeing I have had my bine for the past week!! Boy is it so hard. I lose 6 kilos and gain about 4, so at least I am still losing thank goodness, but very slowly!! It is so unfair cause I absolutely love chocolate!!!!! as most of you know. Well maybe by the time I am 70 I may be slim taut and terrific!!!!! By then it probably wont matter so much I will have given up. Why can I not just do it and stay lighter than I am. Am going to the gym now 4 times a week with my programme in place!!! No difference visible as yet, early days though. Only a few weeks in.

Anyway I have spent all morning downloading these photos as it is a lengthy operation, I have copies pics of my niece's wedding, tidied up the computer table top, sorted out junk mail to go in the bin, and found some photos I have to cut up to put in the album of the house renovations! So all is not lost with the day.. I have the telly on and all day will be on the coverage of the two miners trapped in the mine in Beaconsfield in Tasmania, imagine being in there for over 13 days??? No way, they are amazing men. Hopefully today they will be able to get through to them, they have 1.6 metres horizontally to go and then 1.3 metres vertically to actually reach them. The rock has become more difficult to get through so the men are working through the rock by hand now. Hopefully by the end of the day the men will be rescued and back with their family. They will certainly have a different outlook on their lives from now on.

The rest of the day here??? Well the wind has come up I can hear the blinds rattling in the bedroom. I am off to Mum's to give her some magazines to have a look at, do some tidying up here and get some more stuff sorted out in the palace. Have just bought 30 yes 30 magazine holders to keep my magazines and catalogues upright, plan to put them in today and then I will know how many more I need to buy!!! I know it is a lot of magazines, but I cannot part with them!!!

O.K. I am off now to get dressed and have breakky and do some stuff. Mum is off to Rye tomorrow for two weeks, so I will have some time completely to myself except have to look after the 2 dogs and the 2 cats!!! Yay no cooking!!!!! Can sleep on the floor if I want to with no hassels, can leave stuff all over the place if I want to!!!! paradise.........................

had my whinge now.

bye luv Jill. Boy has the wind got wilder, could be a bad afternoon weatherwise.
