My unforgettable birthday!!!!! The best time!!!
Sorry for the big gap in blogs, but here I am again!!
Kate and Matt were coming down for the weekend for my birthday which was on Thursday. As usual on Thursday I woke early, Gerard had already given me my birthday card the night before, it was a funny one so very appropriate. On the front is a little comical cat in blue with a party hat on and says "A birthday is just like a cat..." opening it up it says "...you wake up one morning..." the picture is of a persons head on a pillow with the covers up to the chin looking like they are saying AAAAAARRRRRGGHHH! the cat is on the top of the bed on top of the persons chest head facing towards the persons feet tail up in the air. "... and it's right there in your face!" Well it is funny cause it is typical of a cat!! o.k. o.k. you really have to own a cat and see the card to really appreciate it!
At about 10 to 9 the phone rings and it is Kate wishing me a Happy Birthday as she was at work and had snuck outside to ring me on her mobile, we got cut off as we were talking. I rang her back and finished our conversation. She asked me what was I going to do today? My reply? was going to Bairnsdale with Mum to get a few things for her before we went to Melbourne on Monday and have a wander around the just opened K-Mart store. O.K. she says. After hanging up I was just pottering about and thought it a little odd cause she had already asked me that question a few days before, anyway I thought maybe just maybe she had ordered flowers and was hoping I would be home when they arrived!! About 10 minutes later I hear a car door and look out to the drive way, thinking oh yes it must be flowers. To my absolute shock and surprise it was Kate and Matt!!!! Apparently I screamed!! (I don't remember that) It was the best thing ever, I was just so rapt, they had left at six in the morning and came up a day early to surprise me for my birthday, they had not told Gerard so we all were surprised. I was in shock. They gave me a gorgeous bunch of Iris's my favourite flower all in bud and within 24 hours they were all open and just beautiful, a gorgeous coffee mug with dragonflies on it! a little silver jewel box with a dainty jewelled dragonfly, a recipe book holder with a dragonfly at the back of the stand. And then Kate went to the car and came out with her dressing gown wrapped around what looked like a large rifle or a telescope with legs folded up!! She had even tied up the belt of the d/gown into a bow. It was a very large bamboo wind chime with half a coconut at the top holding it all together, much to Gerard's delight!!!! It is just lovely and the sound is so calming! Kate apologised cause she had not got me a card!! I did not care, I was just so rapt to have them here a day earlier. It was so good..
I am trying to think back now as to what we did all day! Kate and Matt checked into the "Mariners Cove" The most expensive of accomodations here overlooking the canal with a spa in their room! They wanted to stay somewhere luxurious as if they were on a real holiday, mind you they were with us all the time!! So they really need not have booked into that place. They don't want to stay with us, I suppose they want their own privacy. Mum and I still had to go to Bairnsdale and Gerard had to go to work, so Kate and Matt stayed at the house, Matt played games on the computer while Kate made Gerard some buns and chocolate crackles!! We had chicken for tea talked for a while and then they went to their motel room for the night. The next day, Friday we were booked into a kayaking trip, I called them yesterday to let them know we could leave at 8.30am now that Kate and Matt were already here. At 7.30 the chap rang to confirm if we were going as it all depended on the weather. It was cancelled for the day as it was a bit windy and overcast. So we would see what it was like on Saturday. We ended up borrowing the next door neighbours kayaks and having a bit of a paddle out the back of our place. Matt had been n a kayak before and Gerard and I had had a go the week before on the neighbours kayaks, so Kate was a bit nervous at first, but she took to it in no time which was great. We were taking it in turns trying out the two kayaks when I noticed the dolphins rolling around in the water in the distance. So Matt and I paddled out a bit near Raymond Island and ended up with the dolphins swimming close by, it was a bit scary cause we did not know when or where they would pop up out of the water. It was the most amazing experience. Could not believe we were actually out there in the water with dolphins swimming around us! Matt and I paddled back to Kate and Gerard and Kate really wanted to go out there, so I ended up going out again with Kate. They came so close to us as you can see below, this time I took my camera with me and tried to take some pics, it was not easy cause by the time you aimed the camera and clicked the button they were gone again. At one stage they were all under the water and all of a sudden they would pop up in another spot . We all had such a great time. We had fish and chips for Tea as Gerard had to work again that night at the servo. When we woke up Saturday morning, there was no wind, and a bit overcast but pleasant. Seven thirty the phone call came to confirm we were going on the kayak trip. We all met at the foreshore in Paynesville and squeezed into our skirts to keep us dry while in the kayak, then the life jackets and of course then into the kayaks! Matt and I had the "bigger" kayaks!! These kayaks had rudders at the back to help with turning the kayak left and right instead of having to paddle like mad to make a turn. They were activated with your feet on a pedal for each foot. It took a bit of getting used to, but we managed. We paddled out to "Duck Arm" I have no idea how far it was but it sure was a long way. Matt kept charging off in front, Kate could not keep up with him, so then he would stop and wait for her, then they would wait there for Gerard and then wait for me, by the time I reached them they would paddle off again so I never got a rest! We were on the water for almost four hours, with a break for a cuppa at half time. We all really enjoyed ourselves and were all a bit tired by the time we got back. We cooked roast Pork for tea and thoroughly enjoyed it. We played a game of Phase 10 Masters edition, it was just like old times again. Have missed the Saturday night card games. Kate, Matt and Gerard went next door to ask if we could borrow the kayaks again in the morning and we could, we wanted to see what the difference was after being in the ones with rudders compared to the ones without. We all seemed to prefer the ones without. Milly came down with us also and Kate put her in the kayak with me, she loved it, just sat there pretty relaxed as I paddled. A regular walker with her dog came by and her dog wanted to get into the kayak and Milly kept growling at him. In the end Kate took Milly from me and put her on the ground. The other dog chased Milly and she ran into the water and leapt back into the kayak with me. The other little dog wanted to come too! After they left I put Milly overboard, not deep and she paddled back to shore, about one metre out! She was so wet and splashed herself all over Kate. We all had a good laugh and then carried the kayaks and gear back to the house. Gerard got back from church, we chatted for a while and then it was time for them to go. We all had a great time together.
It was the best birthday I have ever had.. Just so special.
Tomorrow, Monday I am off to Melbourne with Mum. We are meeting my brother at my sister's house in Mordialloc, then Mum is going to Rye with my brother to stay at my other sister's house in Rye. My niece Lauren is getting married next Saturday so Mum was invited to stay there for the week to be involved in the before wedding plans also Mum's brother is coming over from Kambalda W.A. tommorrow so they will have time to catch up with each other. I am staying with Machele and Tamyka again in Moorabbin and will be so busy catching up with friends and working for Lesley at the annual Paperific convention in Melbourne for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then come home on the wednesday in time to go to Orbost again for some more Osteopath treatment. Just don't know where the time goes.
Pat the painter has finished the loungeroom, kitchen halls and front entrance, just working on the skirting boards and window frames and then onto the other rooms. Will be almost done by the time I get back!! Yep won't hold my breath. Bit worried cause I won't be here to scrape all the paint spots off the floor!!!!! Yep there are drop sheets on the floor, but paint seems to splat!
Problems with the pantry door in the kitchen, it keeps scraping on the floor and will not shut properly!!! The boss came down and did not know why it was happening!!! duh... will probably blame it on the floor more than likely!! Anyway Gerard can get in touch with him now.
I had better get off to bed so I can wake up early, as usual I have left everything to the last minute and not packed anything to take with me as yet!! Will be in a rush as usual in the morning.
It is Friday

Morning all..
I just cannot seem to sleep past 6a.m. these days. So by 6.30a.m. I am up going for a walk. Just perfect weather for walking, the sun is up, the swans are all about and the rosellas are calling for more food. What more could one want??? I know "that handyman!!"
Anyway I had the privelege this morning of feeding a swan with her bubs!!! Not sure if there were two or three. Two were paddling along side, but when one of them hopped onto her back and nestled in I noticed more fluff inbetween the feathers. It is so cute seeing their little heads bob up. I will put up some pics on the swan blog if you would like to see them. Got a gorgeous close up of the two bubs. The mother, I gather it is the mother was not too keen on having the dogs nearby and although she grabbed a bit of bread out of my hand she hissed at me too! One other swan was about to have a go at one of the bubs and the mother was there within seconds at the other swan.
Pat the painter is here this morning painting around the window frames in the lounge so we can see if we like the colour. He is a bit stuffed as he had a heart op nine weeks ago and although the doc said he was ready to work again, he is finding it a bit hard going. So a short day for him today!
Gerard has gone off to Bairnsdale this morning to help "clean" the church!! So I have the day almost to myself!! He has the graveyard shift at the servo from 5 to 9.30p.m. closing time so I won't see much of him at all today!!! So if I sit on the computer all day if I want to I won't be nagged, or I could go to bed and sleep all day and do absolutely nothing!! But I won't as I have bought some material I want to make some pull down shades in the Purple Palace to cover the laserlight so my card does not fade!! Have worked out what I am going to do, so hope the plan does work!! We shall see.
Anne across the road has lent me her Wisteria book, did you know there are Japanese, Chinese, American, Summer and other types of Wisterias?? NO??? Neither did I. So I am going to read up on them at some time as I want to put in an arbour and have wisteria hanging off it!!
My fill of Nature!!

Well I think I have had my fill of nature today!! Mum and I were held up in Bairnsdale this morning going to Orbost by 1/2 hour! Luckily my appointment to the Osteo was altered. Happily driving along as usual, watching the side of the road incase there just happened to be a kangaroo jumping across the road. Mind you we have never seen one yet!!!!!! Touch wood!!! and what do I see but NOT ONE!!
NOT TWO!! BUT THREE!!! YES THREE EMU'S!!!!! Well did I come to a halt pretty quickly!! yep I sure did!!!! Did a uey (youwee) across double lines ssshhhhh don't tell anyone and went back to the spot where they were and yep sure enough there they were three of them!!! Just grazing about a metre from the road!!! Got the camera out real quick! (yep I am taking it everywhere from now on!) and snapped, unfortunately I had zoomed in and only got one in the pic, and by the time I zoomed out for the three of them they were gone! just like that. Boy were we both amazed. Never even realised that there may be emu's around the place!!! So here it is.. ta daa! Well you have already seen it at the top of this blog. Still not got the complete hang of it yet, wanted to introduce the emu to you first but just cannot seem to get it to do what I want it to do!!!
So after we calmed down and got on our way again, we finally arrived half an hour early for the next appointment, so we decided to go for a little drive around Orbost. It is such a lovely place. The people are so friendly, they take pride in the town, it has a very wide main street, and you feel very relaxed. Lovely views and a drive along the Snowy river, gorgeous parks. While driving along a back road looking at the rolling hills beyond some houses I saw something on the grass ahead and when we got near it was a Kookaburra! When I was very I mean very little and young we lived at the foot of the Dandenongs at a place called Mount Evelyn. The land was pretty big and we had chooks, a goat, dogs cats, big veggie gardens, a mini orchard of apples, pears, lemons, and a clothes line that stretched just sooo far. It was a long line propped up with tree trunks with a fork at the top, I remember there were three of them, we used to un prop them all to hang the washing on and then up the trunks would go. I remember them swaying back and forth in the wind. The bottom of the trunks were shaped into points and they were pushed into the ground to keep them in the same spot. So what does that have to do with Kookaburras????? Well I remember Dad used to go out to the line and there used to be Kookaburras sitting on the line waiting for him to give them their daily feed of meat. They used to make a lot of noise (laughing etc) to let Dad know they were there! Nowadays the kids living in the suburbs would not experience anything at all like that. Maybe feed a few magpies if they could be bothered. It is such a shame as to experience nature this way was the best. I might see the odd one on the way to Melbourne sitting on a power line, but not often enough. Anyway while I was taking some pics of this Kooka, mum said ooohh, look over there!! and there was another one. A pair of Kookas. O.K. O.K. I sound like a read kid, but I enjoy this type of stuff.
but wait there is more!!! The kookas did not mind us sitting in the car across the road from them, they were happily digging in the grass for worms and insects oblivious to the world going past them.
Finally we came across the local Geese, usually there are three of them the two above and one that is completely white. So the locals say they turned up one day and have decided to stay. Quite often they are sittin on the bank in front of the supermarket basking in the sun. The town have made their own "goose crossing" signs. They are so big!!
The indoor painting is coming along, aahh that lovely smell!! eeuugghh..
You know you are in the country when!!!!!
Yep you really do know when you are living in the country when driving along the road to Bairnsdale you come across a sign beside the road saying something like,
caution cattle on the road ahead!!! Yeah O.K. seen that sign dozens of times before and never see anything!!! Just like the kangaroo and koala signs!! WELL BING BONG!!!!! WRONG!!!!!!! In the distance it looks a bit like fog on the road, but it is moving!!! Yep there they were, a little bit of a click clack on the road and the odd Baaa! there they were about 200 odd sheep trotting along the road, no one in sight with them at first glance, of course I wound down the window so rapt to be so close to sheep. The poor buggars were frightened coming face to face with my car!!!!! then suddenly there was one yes only one sheep dog rounding them up and they stopped in front of me!!! Of course I was not going anywhere!! The dog then let them move on and as they trotted by the car they baaa'd a bit more. Some of them had been shorn and looked rather ugly, while others had their full coat of wool on. A couple of little lambs were in the middle of the flock it was a wonder they did not get hurt. Talk about rapt!!!! And of all times I did not have my camera with me!!!!! DAMN!!! Gee I get excited about simple silly things eh!!! It made my day. Then as they passed there was one sheep that just stopped by the side of the road, the dog was trying to make it move with the owners commands, he was sitting in a truck on the side of the road with another dog in the back with a muzzle on yapping away. Eventually the farmer got out of his car, hobbled across the road, grabbed the sheep by the back and carried it back to the truck, threw it into the back of the truck with the two dogs and off he went! And off we drove as if nothing had happened. All back to normal again... just another day!!!!!
Kayak Update!!
Well my good friend Machele has posted in the comments with a few questions regarding our recent Kayak trip. So thought I had better answer them cause maybe you may be asking the same questions.
"How did I get out of the kayak at the end?? Did I roll onto my knees with the kayak stuck to my bum????" LOL!!! Would have looked like a snail!!!! Well a very large snail.. Now this is a good question... As Gerard pulled in before me, I decided to row a bit faster cause I thought it may be easier to "land" on the sand and then I won't have to step into the water and the kayak won't rock. The only snag with being on the sand I was now facing
uphill!!! So I ended up having to get Gerard to on the count of three, actually heave!! and pull me out of the kayak!!!!! It took a lot of effort. The other question was how am I feeling now????? I am fine. I am really surprised no pain at all!!!
Did I need any cushions for back support? No I did put the towel on the seat, but took it off as it made me a bit higher, did not feel at all uncomfortable. Besides who would feel an uncomfortable seat when their boobs are squashed in so far with the life jacket on!!!!
I am sure the Kayaks on our trip with Kate and Matt will be suitable for any size!! Well I hope so, I did ask if size was a problem and he said no!! Cause Matt is a big chap also. Hey it would be great if we could go on a trip with you and Tamyka when you are down.
No honestly the kayak trip was the best of fun, I really do want to save up for one and a trolley and a pully or maybe a couple of men!!! just to be around to take the kayak to the water, push the kayak into the water and then pull the kayak out of the water and bring it back home!!! What are my chances of that????? absolutely none at all, just like finding an odd job man about!!!!
say no more!!!
Stunned!!!

This poor little Silver Eye flew into the window and was in shock, Gerard moved it into the bushes so it could recover without any dogs hassling it!! It did fly away. Amazing the mark around it's eye, looks just like we have got a marker and painted around it!!
These little cuties hang around the bird bath with the fairy wrens, did not know they existed until I took photos of the wrens at the bird bath and on zooming in on the pics later I saw some of these with the wrens!
What a Great start to the day!!!

Well yesterday morning was busy, the painters arrived early and started taking out furniture everywhere. I at least thought they could paint around the bigger stuff like the chairs, but everything went except the telly and the large couch!
Dropsheets are everywhere and I am not complaining, but just getting the kitchen up and running and now it is all covered up! Hey that's o.k. take aways for the next few days sounds good!
After getting everything out of the main rooms and covered up the rest and locked the cats out in their part of the verandah and outdoor enclosure.
Hey aren't I clever there is a pic of the outdoor part! It is a bit like spot the two cats though!!
THEN!!!!! we went next door to borrow their KAYAKS!!!! Soo exciting. I have never done anything like this before, not even been in a row boat!!! So this was it.. The day was perfect, no wind, overcast which was even better so not too hot. So off we went, taking one kayak at a time down to the sandy part where we usually feed the swans, it is not far, but it sure seems VERY far when carrying one end of a kayak!!! Left that one on the sand and walked back to get the other one. So far so good.... Made sure we had the oars? check, lifejackets? check, water? check, fly spray? check padding????? Nup!!! So off I go to get a couple of towels.. Well did not need them really.. So next step was to put on the life jackets!! O.k. says Gerard, not wanting to offend me, but I had better have the bigger life jacket. Hey what the heck who cares???? Well I had the best cleavage ever!!!! Breath in!!! Got all three clips done up with letting out the slack!!! Felt like I was in a straight jacket. Thank God I did not have a mirror as I would have died!!!!! Nice and comfy around the waist also, a real good look!!!!!!! Then the hat!!!!! OMG!!! I really look my best in a hat especially one of Gerard's hats which makes him look like farmer Brown!! It has a brim all the way around.. Great eh. Had to tuck my front hair up as it was too long to cover the forehead!!! Are you getting a clear picture yet??? I had on a long tshirt and tracky dacks and runners. Big reflecting sunglasses, spray on the insect stuff and then comes the time to sit in the kayak to see if everything is in place!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!!!!! I could not stop laughing firstly we were still on the sand!! and then I got both legs in and then of course had to BEND my knees to get into a sitting position!!! O.K. then my bum was TOO BIG!! to fit!!! Well it was soo funny, I had to literally squash myself in!!!! Then once in I was laying back as the seat back was in a very back position!! I also had my knees almost up to my`CHIN!! So the next step was GETTING OUT OF THE BLOODY THING!! Eventually I got out with the help of Gerard!! Both of us cackling away, thank goodness no one was around, well I don't think there was!!! We managed to adjust the foot rests and found the back seat adjuster. So once again in I squeeze!! Finally got it adjusted so I did not look like I was lying down and my knees were still bent, but comfortable!! The next thing was Gerard wanted me toGET OUT!!!!! to push the kayak into the water and for me to then just "HOP IN"" while the bloody thing is bobbing up and down in the water!!!! Can you imagine the headlines!!! LADY DROWNS WHILE GETTING INTO KAYAK in a foot of water!!!!!! WHY???? cause she is STUCK!! IN IT WHEN IT TURNS OVER CAUSE IT IS WOBBLING SO MUCH WHILE GETTING IN!!! So I said NO you can push it out with me in it..... So that is what we did!!!!
Then Gerard got in his kayak and off we went!!! Well after getting over the giggles we were off. Oh yes Gerard did say to me that I did look a sight!!!!
I have found that I am hooked on it!!!!! Just love it... We paddled to the left around the corner up to and passed the new canal opening, saw swans and babies and got so upset, cause a pair of swans took flight and left the bubs behind and they swam off in different directions!! Gee can the little uns move. I don't know if they all got back together.. We then came back and went down the canal opening and paddled under the bridge that separates us form the main part of Paynesville and then decided we had better turn left at the next opening and paddle back to where we started so basically it was around the block. O.K. I have told you this in a couple of seconds but we were away for a good two hours. Gosh it was fun. So now on my Birthday list is not only a telescope, but a Kayak!!!!!! Yep dream on. Will have to sell off my stamps to be able to buy either of them..
Woke up this morning feeling fine, but fell asleep on the couch about 8pm and went to bed at 10pm and woke up this morning about 7am. So had a darn good sleep for a change.
Well I am off now to take Mum to the dentist!! to see if she can have new dentures or get these ones adjusted and off to Spotlight to buy some block out curtains to put in the Palace under the sky lights to block the brightness, cause all of my card is fading!!!!!
Better go now, will talk again later.
Up early this morning!
Good morning to you!!!
Don't know what is wrong with me!!! I woke up at 5.30a.m.!!! and could not get back to sleep, so instead of lying there thinking of all that has to be done, I got up.. Another warm day is predicted today, well by warm I mean in low 20's, like yesterday. Need to get into the wardrobe and find some cooler clothes and that means the horrid word IRONING!!! I hate it.. I have decided that I need to have a plan....... Yep I need to iron at least once a week in these warmer months, how long will this last????? Not even for one week I would imagine. Although I have improved with doing some housework believe it or not.. The house is gradually being sorted out and I do seem to have a bit of an obsession with the bathroom, the laundry, and now the kitchen!!! Don't want them to get messy and dirty cause they are all new and clean so at least something good has come out of all this. For anyone reading this who did not know me at Rowville, I just never had time for housework, there was "stamping" to do!!! I did keep the place reasonably clean, but just did not put things away!!! Once I get all the renovations done, I may be in some sort of "ritual" and can have a tidy and clean house and also time for my crafts etc.
The plan for today is to do what I did not do yesterday!!!
What did I do yesterday then?? You may be asking??? Well I decided I was going to get stuff moved for tomorrow when the painter comes which meant taking stuff out to the Palace!! I got a bit sidetracked though and decided to get the drawers finished in my cabinet! Well They are done!!!!! Yep not as much time spent on them as I would have liked, but I will line......... YES LINE each little square with some card so as to not get my things dirty as it will take forever for me to clean them out the way I would like.
They are all Marveer'd, their handles are back on!!! What a monster that was!!! and they are all in the cabinet!! I will have to try and work out how to "close up" the gap that has happened on one side of the cabinet, with moving it about sanding etc it has gaped a little. I will write more on that later on.
So it took me hours the night before and almost all day to do it. The other part of the day, I decided to have a break and play on the computer and that was the end of me then!!!! I locked up the Purple Palace and played the night away!!! What a waste of time........ but is this not what it is all about now???? be able to do whatever I want????? If I want to stay in bed all day I can???? (but I wouldn't) I could lay on the swing all day though! :)
So the plasterer will be here this arvo to sand off so I am going to take a walk, have a shower and then get stuck into it again and not get sidetracked..
O.K. see you later will get back to you with my progress.
Just a Hint!!
If you want to take a closer look at the pics below, just left double click on them!
Make sure you do this to the little swan and the family of swans
hope you like them!
AND THEN THERE WERE TWO!!
It is amazing how we get used to any changes very quickly. For the last 6 mornings after I wake up, see the condition of the sky and assess what the morning will look like, I gradually lift my aching body, maneuvering my legs around the lump on top of the bed (Rusty), up out of the bed, I have been having a regular spate of late nights again, shuffle myself to the second bedroom, knock on the door and slowly open it to take a peep at Tamyka in the bed. She is so cute! first thing in the morning, although she may not think so, struggling to open her eyes to see what is happening and obviously does not believe it is time to get up again. We put the TV and DVD from the Purple Palace in her room, so each night after we say goodnight she has been catching up on DVD's so goodness knows what time she falls asleep, for me it has usually been about one or two a.m.
We have been for early morning walks, hoping to see the swans and their families and yes we have seen some, Tamyka has been very good, she does seem to be genuinely interested in looking out for them also. Not just coming along to keep me happy! The time has gone by so quickly here, I cannot believe she had been here for the six days. We have both enjoyed having her here.
Yesterday morning was a bit of a rush, Tamyka wanted to make her mum a little pocket book before she left, we had the plasterers here first thing, Tamyka had to pack her bags, and had a surprise visitor as I did not have time to tell the plasterer she was in her room. I am not sure who was surprised more! I had to finish off some cards for Tamyka to take with her and before we knew it it was coming on to noon! We wanted to leave here at 12.30 to get to Bairnsdale in plenty of time for the train, we had not had any lunch, so I made a packed lunch for Tamyka to eat on the train, a quick roll for Gerard and I and left here about 12.40p.m. We got to the train in plenty of time and found Tamyka's "first class" seat!! Spoke to the guard just to let him know she was traveling by herself and before we knew it it was time for the train to leave. I messaged Machele to let her know Tamyka had left and then we all messaged each other during her three hour train trip to Dandenong station, and finally the last message from Machele to say Tamyka had arrived safely.
We took mum home before coming back to our house and it did seem rather odd as there was just the "two" of us again. It had been so nice to have an extra person here for a while, helping out, having some laughs and company on my walks etc. Not to mention also playing games on the computer with another game addict, msn three ways to Machele was also a bit of a giggle. We were only home a short while when the Electrician called in to install the hot plates and the exhaust in the kitchen!!!!! YAY I have a complete kitchen now, Machele mentioned when she was here at Easter we were planning the kitchen and submitting it to the maker!!! Taken quite a while to get it eventually. All that needs done now is the tiling and the painting and some filler boards above the cupboards and some ducting for the exhaust fumes to go into the roof!!! Nup the kitchen man does "NOT" DO that part of things!!!!!! David and Paul where are you?????? I have been so patient waiting for things to be done, but sometimes I do get quite down!! So tomorrow the plasterer will be back to do the sanding off and then Pat the painter will be here Tuesday to get started on the painting inside!! So I should not be sitting here in the second bedroom (I am here cause the view is too tempting and I would sit there all day)!!! as there is so much to do before tomorrow and Tuesday, putting stuff out of the way..
How bad is it when the plasterer comments on """"wow what a difference in the second bedroom"""" cause it is tidy and hardly anything in there!!! Thanks Tamyka for coming here to "make" me clear out the room..
I made the effort last night and into the early hours of the morning to finish putting Marveer on the front of my drawers on the printers type cabinet. I have given up using a paint brush and soapy water to clean out each partition as it is taking me so long, cause after they dried I was then using the paint brush again to Marveer them all. There is 96 little compartments in each drawer and there are 20 of them, I will post a photo of the finished cabinet soon. I have decided to use up some scrap card (so glad I keep the scraps), and cut it into small squares to line the bottom of each compartment cause they are still black from the metal type blocks, it will be quicker than my first plan, even quicker than making "little" box bottoms to go into each space!! It is looking good so far. I can't wait to put all of those "little" bits and pieces in them as I have many and may be able to dispose of some other containers to make room for more of my stuff. More details will be in "the Purple Palace" blog soon..
From when we first moved in in January the rooms in the house have been changing all of the time. The hall leading to the bedrooms is now "empty" not a box to be seen compared to months ago we had to squeeze down the hall sideways to get to bed. It does look very bare though. Am slowly emptying boxes to fill up the kitchen. One problem!!!! well not for me really :) is we now have the kitchen all up and running now to be able to cook decent meals and guess where the saucepans etc are????????............................. In storage in Dandenong!!!!!!! I did not bother to bring them with us as there was no cook top to use them on and it meant one less box to have here!!!! LOL!!!!!!
Have just heard on the telly about Bali and more bombings, OMG when will it all stop. Machele has been back about a month now from Bali, thank goodness she got home safely.. I bet her heart is thumping rather loudly now. Or maybe not as she and Tamyka are probably both in bed asleep still!!!!! he!! heeee!!!! heeee!!! :) sorry guys could not resist..
O.k. time for me to get off this chair and do some work it is 8.40a.m. now so should get a bit done before Gerard gets home from his early morning shift at the servo! He is getting better at it, still gets nervous, but is not having to call in Doug every day for some help. So that is a good sign...
bye for now
