What a Great start to the day!!!

Well yesterday morning was busy, the painters arrived early and started taking out furniture everywhere. I at least thought they could paint around the bigger stuff like the chairs, but everything went except the telly and the large couch!
Dropsheets are everywhere and I am not complaining, but just getting the kitchen up and running and now it is all covered up! Hey that's o.k. take aways for the next few days sounds good!
After getting everything out of the main rooms and covered up the rest and locked the cats out in their part of the verandah and outdoor enclosure.
Hey aren't I clever there is a pic of the outdoor part! It is a bit like spot the two cats though!!
THEN!!!!! we went next door to borrow their KAYAKS!!!! Soo exciting. I have never done anything like this before, not even been in a row boat!!! So this was it.. The day was perfect, no wind, overcast which was even better so not too hot. So off we went, taking one kayak at a time down to the sandy part where we usually feed the swans, it is not far, but it sure seems VERY far when carrying one end of a kayak!!! Left that one on the sand and walked back to get the other one. So far so good.... Made sure we had the oars? check, lifejackets? check, water? check, fly spray? check padding????? Nup!!! So off I go to get a couple of towels.. Well did not need them really.. So next step was to put on the life jackets!! O.k. says Gerard, not wanting to offend me, but I had better have the bigger life jacket. Hey what the heck who cares???? Well I had the best cleavage ever!!!! Breath in!!! Got all three clips done up with letting out the slack!!! Felt like I was in a straight jacket. Thank God I did not have a mirror as I would have died!!!!! Nice and comfy around the waist also, a real good look!!!!!!! Then the hat!!!!! OMG!!! I really look my best in a hat especially one of Gerard's hats which makes him look like farmer Brown!! It has a brim all the way around.. Great eh. Had to tuck my front hair up as it was too long to cover the forehead!!! Are you getting a clear picture yet??? I had on a long tshirt and tracky dacks and runners. Big reflecting sunglasses, spray on the insect stuff and then comes the time to sit in the kayak to see if everything is in place!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!!!!! I could not stop laughing firstly we were still on the sand!! and then I got both legs in and then of course had to BEND my knees to get into a sitting position!!! O.K. then my bum was TOO BIG!! to fit!!! Well it was soo funny, I had to literally squash myself in!!!! Then once in I was laying back as the seat back was in a very back position!! I also had my knees almost up to my`CHIN!! So the next step was GETTING OUT OF THE BLOODY THING!! Eventually I got out with the help of Gerard!! Both of us cackling away, thank goodness no one was around, well I don't think there was!!! We managed to adjust the foot rests and found the back seat adjuster. So once again in I squeeze!! Finally got it adjusted so I did not look like I was lying down and my knees were still bent, but comfortable!! The next thing was Gerard wanted me toGET OUT!!!!! to push the kayak into the water and for me to then just "HOP IN"" while the bloody thing is bobbing up and down in the water!!!! Can you imagine the headlines!!! LADY DROWNS WHILE GETTING INTO KAYAK in a foot of water!!!!!! WHY???? cause she is STUCK!! IN IT WHEN IT TURNS OVER CAUSE IT IS WOBBLING SO MUCH WHILE GETTING IN!!! So I said NO you can push it out with me in it..... So that is what we did!!!!
Then Gerard got in his kayak and off we went!!! Well after getting over the giggles we were off. Oh yes Gerard did say to me that I did look a sight!!!!
I have found that I am hooked on it!!!!! Just love it... We paddled to the left around the corner up to and passed the new canal opening, saw swans and babies and got so upset, cause a pair of swans took flight and left the bubs behind and they swam off in different directions!! Gee can the little uns move. I don't know if they all got back together.. We then came back and went down the canal opening and paddled under the bridge that separates us form the main part of Paynesville and then decided we had better turn left at the next opening and paddle back to where we started so basically it was around the block. O.K. I have told you this in a couple of seconds but we were away for a good two hours. Gosh it was fun. So now on my Birthday list is not only a telescope, but a Kayak!!!!!! Yep dream on. Will have to sell off my stamps to be able to buy either of them..
Woke up this morning feeling fine, but fell asleep on the couch about 8pm and went to bed at 10pm and woke up this morning about 7am. So had a darn good sleep for a change.
Well I am off now to take Mum to the dentist!! to see if she can have new dentures or get these ones adjusted and off to Spotlight to buy some block out curtains to put in the Palace under the sky lights to block the brightness, cause all of my card is fading!!!!!
Better go now, will talk again later.

Well todays blog was exactly what I needed....a great laugh....wish I had been there to have the fun with you...its sounds great apart from the embarrassing part!!!. How did you go getting out???? Did it stick to your bum and when you rolled onto your knees it was attached behind you?? I;m sure that is what would happen with me.
Did you have good back support whilst paddling? How is your body today..aching? I can just imagine how beautiful it would have been out there just the two of you drifting along. No speed boats went past creating waves I gather. It all sound like something we will have to do when Tamyka and i come up one time. Tamyka would love it. I hope you have just as much fun with Kate and Matt when you do it. At least you are prepared.
Sorry I haven't been online or in touch things have been hectic.
Sunday we went to the movies then caught up with Bianca and Alex who are friends who is down from Sydney. Monday night I went to a talk on raising teenagers which turned out not to be a talk but an ongoing support group with the occassional guest speaker. Might keep going for awhile it could come in handy down the track. got home at 10.30, did lunches etc and hit the sack very tired.
Last night I took Tamyka to Bowen Therapy which took 2 1/4hours!!! so got home at 7.45 and did dinner, lunches, ironing and watch All Saints, had the phone ring at 10.30 and got to bed at 12!! Buggered once again. I seems to be going through a really tired patch at the moment....can't get enough sleep...even 12 hours isn't enough!
Work has been very taxing lately. Have had my boss from Sydney giving me a hard time again and one of the girls in the office speaking down to me constantly which is really peeing me off!!
Apart from that nothing much else has happened. I am feeling a bit lost at the moment, don't know why but sure I will come good again.
I can't thank you enough for having Tamyka up there Jill. She really enjoyed herself. I think just getting away from me and my nagging helps us both. She is a good kid but as well know they try it on with their parents. I'm glad you both enjoyed having her there and she wasn't to much trouble. I hear she cooked dinner for you???? She would have enjoyed doing it for you. Thank you for your kind comments about her. I am very proud of her and more so when you hear good reports on her behaviour etc.
Xmas....well at this stage I am totally up in the air as to what we are doing. I personnally don't want to know about it. Tamyka doesn't want to have it with her dad...altho he rang when she got back and they are going out for dinner just the two of them on Thurs. night so I guess he is trying. The thought of coming up there sounds wonderful. We finish work about the 22nd Dec and resume just after New Year. I will discuss this with you when we come up in Oct/Nov.
Lion King. I went to see about tickets, the only tickets left are nearly at the back. The best seats we could get would be in the dress circle on one side about half way to the roof for $99.98 each or there abouts. If we wanted to pay for VIP tickets we could get the first row in the dress circle they would cost about $167 each. The other alternative is to hold off and see if they extend the season and try and get in quickly to get better seats. What do you think?
Now there was something else I wanted to talk about.....what was it.... oh yes the painting!!! its all happening hey...I can't wait to see the place when we come up. How exciting, it be all finished!!
Are you dying of paint fumes??? What colour did you decide on?
I had Gary come the other day and clear my spoutings after that storm while Tamyka was away, he found one of the tiles had been moved....maybe that was where the critter was getting into my roof! I haven't heard anything since he replaced it so lets keep our fingers crossed.
Well my friend I had better go and get some work done. yuk I would so love to retire!!! I'm sick of this. Never mind.
Horrible news about Bali hey! I had been to both those places when I was there!! I would still go back though. Those poor people dont' deserve this. They are sooo lovely. This time I wouldn't haggle, I would insist on paying twice as much as they want just to help them out.
Well better go.
Talk soon. If I'm up to it I will go online tonight.
