What a day!!!

I am lounging on the swing on our simply fabulous verandah and I am going to close my eyes and just listen for a second.

A car has just driven around the car park, whooosh a magpie flying around the corner of the verandah, i am trying to enjoy the peace and quiet and Gerard has turned the telly on for the footy damn!!!! bzzz a fly rushing by, jenny wrens are in the distance, an ever so gentle breeze floating past my arm, the clock ticking in the lounge room, in the far distance a magpie and no other noise but the ringing in my ears. My eyes are open now and I see a blue sunny sky, a few cotton wool clouds above the water, a fast rippling effect on the water intensifies the colour of such a lovely blue just gorgeous. The bushes are rustling in the breeze and I see a boat leaving to go out into the lakes, disturbing the water with its rough white trail rushing to the shore in small waves. The rosellas are muttering to themselves "when is this woman going to get off her butt and give us some more food!!!!!" They are congregating under the tree where the bird feeder is and the cats are probably looking at them in wonder, eyes enlarged and thinking of supper!!

A lady who walks her dog regularly past here is practicing her gold swing while her dog is having a wonderful time exploring the long grass and bushes close by. The Plovers have been very protective of their so called nest, hole in the ground and hassling people walking by.

I haven't been here all day, I did get up a little later than usual, and I started a bit more painting. I have now painted around most of the windows, just have the cat's area to do, that is inside. I also painted two posts next to the sliding door outside. Slow and steady wins the race so they say, but I really did want it all done yesterday!! lol!!!

A speed boat has just cut itself through the blue water leaving a very rough surface.

I have just been for a walk with Gerard up to the hill, very disappointed as I did not see the two pairs of swans and their babies, so will have to get up early in the morning and go for a walk and see if they are still about.

The Plovers are still surviving, went over to take a photo of the three eggs and now there are FOUR!!!!!! Looks like it will be a long month for them as they are obviously new ones not likely to hatch for a while. The parents are very protective.

The sun has finally gone from my window and it is getting rather cool now on the verandah. Looking out to the water I see some seagulls diving into the water, well I think they are seagulls. The water is still a gorgeous blue, imagine the sunset will be a stunner tonight. There is still warmth in the sun and the cats have moved to the front door to take in a little more heat.

A lot of boats and yachts are coming in after a long day out on the water. I wonder what they all do when they go out??????? Fish, relax maybe???? Can't go for a walk too far!!! Where do they go? How far away do they go? What is the attraction to be on a boat with limited space all day??? I wonder????????

Till next time...............

What a life you have. I am soo envious, I read this when I was a work and have be dying to come home ever since, that has made it a long day for me as I read it at 9am!!! You are an excellant writer, very descriptive and you really capture the moment. I can imagine all of what you said. Its sounds soooo beautiful. Can't wait to come up again.

Not much happening here, well actually thats a lie, we had a busy weekend. Went to Wendys for dinner on Friday night (a friend not the ice cream stall!), then Sat caught up with Shirl for coffee, shopping, cleaning etc whilst Tamyka sat in her pjs all day relaxing. That was okay as when I got home from Shopping she was fast asleep on the wooden floor, out cold, didn't hear me come in and unpack the shopping etc.....hmmm I wonder if she did hear me and chose to pretend she was asleep.

Sat night we watched a dvd....can't remember....oh yes it was Are We There Yet...wasn't bad.

Sunday had a sleep in, raced to the florist to buy flowers for Tamyka to take to her grandmother in hospital. Her dad took her. Grandma is in Epworth about half and hour away, they were gone for a total of 1 1/4 hours....I guess they didn't stay long. While they were gone I did a dash to Southland to get a present for the Basketball Coach as we had B.Ball presentation in the afternoon.

When I got home from Southland I rushed in, wrapped the present and we rushed out the Presentation. We left there and went and picked up a friend of Tamykas and went to see Andrea and Lucys play. - The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe - it was excellant. The custumes and makeup were extremely good and the performance was very good.

I met up with a friend of Andreas there, Hikee, Don't know how to spell her name. Anyway her husband committed suiside a couple of months ago, hung himself in the garage. Leftr her and 3 kids behind the eldest one the same age as Tamyka. Very sad. Not mention the fact they they were having to find somewhere else to live as the rental property they were living in had been sold. Poor girl she has had a very tough time. She is German so is mad of tough stuff and has handled it all very well. Anyway, she has a new man in her life already.....why can't these women stand aside and wait their turn....I have been at the head of the line for ever now. Not that I would take it from her she deserves some happiness in her life after what she has been through but..... Anyway this new man is soooooooo nice. He is more my age than hers...I think she is about 42yo....that is probably why she did well and I don't hey. Anyway this guy turns out to be the celebrant that conducted her husbands funeral. He seems lovely and is apparently fantastic with the kids. I'm happy for her. But if it doesn't work I wouldn't mind him ringing me.....dream on.

So back to work today, could hardly keep my eyes open...still trying to recover from to many late nights I think.....then again I am always tired.

Rob has rung and asked Tamyka to go out for dinner, just the 2 of them which will be nice for her.
He can't take her to the show...don't know why....so I am going to have to do it. Thought we would go next Saturday...when the Grand Final is on it is not to packed on Grand Final day.

Tamyka has a friend sleeping over tonight so I had better go and do dinner....spag bol I think...

Okay hope you have had a good day. Sorry I haven't written for a couple of days.

Am going to book train ticket tomorrow so will give you details next time.

Can't wait to read the next chapter in Jill and Gerards Seachange.

Think of me while you are sitting on ther verandah enjoying the peace and sun..... ohhhhhhhhh

Bye for now
Machele and Tamyka
